The Day my Sleeping Cat Fell off the Sofa and Other Stories....

What I did last Easter by T

Last Easter, my family and I went on a Caribbean cruise. We started the trip flying from Luxembourg to Puerto Rico. It almost took 24 hours. The name of the cruise ship was Serenade of the Sea. The ship can carry up to 2.500 passengers. There was a lot to do on the ship: swimming pools, minigolf, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, a casino, a cinema and very good restaurants. We eated a lot in Wind Jammer, and the food was exellent. It was also possible to make your own pizza.

We visited 5 different islands - including Virgin Islands, and some beautiful beaches. We ended our holiday on a lovely hotel in Puerto Rico.

I really want to go on a cruise again.

Interesting fact:  Denmark sold Virgin Islands to USA for 25 million US dollars because we really needed the money. Editor’s comment : are you sure this is true ? Perhaps the UK should sell something ? Would anyone miss the Isle of Wight ?

My twin brother is like me. We always play.  It's fun. He is 9 years old like me. This morning we were playing with my little brother.  We ran up and down the stairs until my mum and dad told us we needed to hurry up.

One day, I finished my science homework and  I suddenly said :
- "where are the dogs?"
- " I don't know!" replied my Mum.
We looked and looked…Later, much later, we found Kimi and Kenzo were in my bedroom, hiding under the bed.
I said "Mum they're under my bed !!!"

Interesting facts : Harmful or harmless? researched by Y

Do you know? The Basking Shark is the second largest living fish and, despite their scary appearance, they’re completely harmless to humans.
In fact, it’s said that their playful curiosity means, they’re completely tolerant of nearby boats and people!

The Spider : The Sheet Web Spider is fast moving and has rather impressive looking fangs – but there’s no confirmed reports of it ever biting humans!

The Dingo : Dingo attacks on humans are rare but there’s been some cases of small children being attacked in Australia.
It’s thought that this is because of increased interaction with humans due to a rise in tourism!
Looks harmful? Think again!!!

Editor's Comment

Welcome to our class blog.  Life viewed through the eyes of nine year olds.

"You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs."

Sometimes things don't go to plan...some of the stories the children have chosen to tell reflect this.  It's not what goes wrong that defines us, but how we respond.  What do you do when the tortoises hide under the settee?  Or you loose the dogs?   Or your cat tries to stop you going on a picnic?

We all tend to focus on how well our children are doing at school, but let's be grateful for them and treasure them just as they are, for who they are.
